Maurissa Dorn is a production systems architect working on NBCU Local’s journey to the cloud. She began her career in event technology where her specialization in complex audio systems eventually lead to her overseeing the audio department for Google’s flagship executive venues and broadcast facilities as part of ASG’s managed service offering. When the pandemic hit, Dorn turned her efforts towards the cloud, leading ASG’s R&D in real-time audio in the cloud while working closely with GCP and other vendors such as Telos, Harrison, VizRT, and Sienna. Although her focus was on audio, she also collaborated to design the infrastructure, video systems, and operational workflows of ASG’s VPCR design. Dorn is now a GCP professional cloud architect and is focusing on designing and optimizing cloud-native systems and solutions for NBCU Local’s broadcast needs: from newscasts to FAST channels to live sports.
