Creative Executive Officer and Voice Actor
As a celebrated Nigerian-American voice actor and creative executive, Joy Ofodu’s imaginative voiceover performances can be heard across children’s animation, online and console games, film, and music. Ofodu has drawn millions of views to her original digital comedy content including her original podcast, Dating Unsettled. Under her media company, Enjoyment Endeavor, she has grown a highly-engaged community of over 300,000 online daters and affirmation-seeking comedy-lovers. Her dating podcast Dating Unsettled, has been lauded for its “vulnerability” and “energizing” “impressions, voiceovers and stories” curated to empower women and non-binary daters globally.
Ofodu has loaned her trained voiceover talents to a wide range of characters across genres, from a sweet grandmother to a kite-flying superhero, to multiple fleet and battle commanders. She can be heard largely in animation, interactive/games, and commercials (including for Dove, Disney Parks, and Meta as herself), as well as trailers, audiobooks, podcasts, and live announcing. She was the global voice of “The Daily Shine”, a meditation podcast reaching 189 countries, and has performed English and Spanish versions of the monstrous La Querida in Skybound Entertainment’s Gasolina.
She is deeply passionate about flooding the children’s and adult animation industry with inclusive voices and representation, and has voiced animals Pip and Olivia in Haibu and the Animal Protectors, Jake the Deer in 6-episode limited series The Sales Off, and Harriett Halibut in independent feature film Beverly Bunny. Ofodu never shies away from a mythical character challenge, voicing a coven mermaid, a spider goddess, and anxious butterfly in Sirenetta, Anansi’s Tapestry of Lives and Juvee Productions’ ASALI: Power of the Pollinators.
In interactive, Ofodu can be heard as the narrator across various games for Disney Junior and Netflix’s Pikwik Pack, True and the Rainbow Kingdom, and Mighty Express and multiple characters in the award-winning games Hearthstone from Blizzard Entertainment and My Time at Sandrock from Pathea Games. She voices the flamethrower-bearing lead Captain Nadia in Chuckefish’s top-rated Wargroove 2.
Tens of Fortune 500 companies and Black-owned businesses have leaned on Ofodu for radio, television, and digital commercial partnership, including Progressive, Aidsfonds, Snap, MAX, and DirecTV. She records regularly from her broadcast-quality home studio with Source Connect capability, and happily travels to Los Angeles, New York, or anywhere in the world to deliver laughter and quality audio, stage, and on-camera performances.
