Barbara Robertson was a senior editor at Computer Graphics World for 20 years. As a freelance writer, she continued creating articles about animation and visual effects for Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Cinefex, Animation Magazine, VFX Voice, Post, Studio Daily, AWN, and other publications, with many cited by scholars. She has written two books, led panels, moderated conferences, and served on film festival juries. Writing awards include an Eddy, Outstanding Article Award from the American Society of Journalists and Authors, Jesse H. Neal Award, Solas Gold Travel Writers Awards, and a Humane Issues Award from the Dog Writers Association. She writes an occasional column on gardening for the Marin Independent Journal newspaper, writes scripts for the MMG video team’s YouTube channel, and is on the advisory board for the VIEW Conference on digital media.
