Principal Member of the Research Staff, Sound Experiences Lab
Alan Seefeldt is a principal member of the Research Staff in the Sound Experiences Lab at Dolby. His work at Dolby over the last 20 years has resulted in over 90 granted patent families and the deployment of licensed technology in over a billion consumer audio devices. These technologies span the areas of perceptual models, advanced audio post-processing techniques, and spatial audio rendering.
Over the past several years Seefeldt has worked to bring Dolby Atmos immersive audio to mainstream consumer devices such as sound bars, televisions, and wireless speakers. Most recently, he led the development of audio rendering algorithms for Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, a technology that gives the consumer the freedom to place a mixture of loudspeaker types anywhere in their listening area.
